"Food Deserts" would be an interesting analysis for Mpls/St Paul, although I can't imagine someone hasn't done this already.

Thanks Anders. I’m exploring the DEED data source and economic census data (which is quite dated). The DEED source is updated annually, but I’m still waiting to get access to their shapefile data.

I know M3D (http://map.deed.state.mn.us/M3D/) has a child-care provider layer. We were trying the app out the other day and that was used in an example. Could be very interesting indeed.
